To Christians

Hopefully if you clicked on the link you are someone who would say "Ya I'm a Christian."

We sincerely hope that you are saved, but how do you know?

Scripture never identifies a person's salvation by past (repeating a prayer, etc), but by present. If God has truly saved you, there should be no question in your mind. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

1) How did I become a Christian?
The truth is many people repeat a prayer, or ask Jesus into their heart. While we are not saying you cannot be saved through these means, they tend to mislead people. The New Testament contains numerous verses on repentance and faith. This is when you realize that you have sinned against the Creator of the Universe. He is the Righteous Judge, who will examine you by His commandments. You must realize that nothing you do on your own can save you. Repent (turn from your sin), and accept God's Grace which can legally pay your fine because Jesus Christ took God's wrath upon Himself.

2) Where is the fruit of my salvation?
The Bible says in Matthew 7:20 that you will know Christians by their fruit. This means there is evidence of daily living for God's glory. You may give money to charity, or try to be nice to people, but this is not good evidence of your salvation because these can be done by pagans. If God has saved you then you should delight in following his commandments. You strive to bring Him glory with everything you do. Not because these works have saved you, but because God saved you, and as a result you want to honor Him. Think of your life as an expression of love and worship to God. Do you hate sin? You cannot love God, yet live in continual sin. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says when God saves you He transforms you. You are a new creation and gives He gives you new desires. This desire to bring Him glory in your daily life should be overflowing with evidence. Also, because you repented and asked God to save you, from that moment on you will despise sin because you are conscious of it and seek to be obedient to the God who alone has saved you.

3) How often do I study my Bible?

The Bible remains the only source of divine revelation and power that can sustain you as a Christian in your walk with God. Note these significant promises in the Scripture.

The Bible is the source of:
Truth: "Sanctify them by Your truth; Your word is truth" (John 17:17).
God's blessing: "But He said, 'More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it'" (Luke 11:28).
Victory: "...the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God" (Eph. 6:17).
Growth: "As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby" (1 Pet. 2:2).
Power: "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek" (Rom. 1:16).
Guidance: "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path" (Ps. 119:105).

Our attitude towards feeding our souls should be of first importance. Out attitude when we wake up in the morning, should be "No read, No feed."

If you want to grow, you must read the Word daily. Without routine studying of the Bible you cannot fully understand the Cross, God's character, and God's will for your life. Simple as that.

4) Where does my joy come from?
Could you separate yourself from the world, even those you love, and still be content? Or do you rely on worldly pleasures, money, and people to bring you gratification? Your hope, everything you are should rest in knowing you are saved. Eternal life does not begin at death, it begins when God transforms you and brings you from death to life through conversion. Your joy is in your knowledge of God through salvation and that you have been saved from eternal damnation.

5) Do I share my faith?
God commands us as Christians to spread the Gospel. If you have been saved from eternal damnation, and transformed by the God of the Universe would you not want to share with others how they too can be saved? This means you are engaging in spiritual conversations on a regular basis with people you come in contact with. Another way is using tracts to show people the true gospel. However you do it, you need to understand that if you are not sharing the Biblical gospel with unsaved relatives, friends, and co-workers, you are not following God's will. Most people would say fear keeps them from sharing their faith. Fear from lack of knowledge. Go here for an amazing book on how to evangelize Biblically. Fear of persecution does not even apply if you live in America. You will be rejected at times, but praise God you can share the Gospel without fear for your life.

Please watch this video. It is one that every person who professes faith in Jesus Christ should.
